MINUTES
May 13th, 2008

 

1. Welcome & Sign in – See attached Sign in sheet.
2. Review of Updated Bylaws-Tami-The changes to the bylaws was presented to the membership. Changes included: Adding Section 904 to be titled “General Election Chairperson.” This outlined the creation of someone that is not running to oversee the election process. Other sections that were edited included the addition of Article 710- which provides members an internal process in which to appeal to the board if they feel that their issue requires a grievance after the Advocate has decided that a grieverence would be without merit.   Article XI was also amended to reflect our current dues rate of $16.00 per pay period.  A flow chart of the board structure was also added to the end. Tami presented these changes by slide presentation, questions were asked and answered. A motion was made to pass the changes the bylaws, There were 29 votes for yes, 0 votes no, Motion carried.
3. Introduction of New Reps-Jessica

- We have now received letters of commitment from 8 unit representatives. We introduced those present. We are still looking for reps for the units that are not yet represented and the Next intro to Reps class May 27th 1pm at the UNOCH office.

1. Contract Review- For general membership education Tami presented section of the contract for review and open discussion. Article I & II reviewed.
2. Time and Attendance Update- Tami- the new clocking system has been started, be sure to clock in and out. If you are having difficulty the CHEX module is very helpful. We are aware that the badge swiper in the OR area needs to be moved. We have already negotiated its relocation outside of the sterile area.
3. Overview of Benefits- Kathy Byerly from HR presented the Benefits road show with the pending changes to our 403b plan as well as the healthcare benefits. Open enrollment is taking place now online. If you there are questions about benefits or the 403b don’t hesitate to call HR or our benefits liaison Lana.
